Chanise Singletary, affectionately known as Mane, was just 18 when her life came to a sudden end in a single-vehicle crash in Jasper County, South Carolina. Her death has left her family grieving a young woman whose life, laughter and childhood memories meant so much to the people closest to her.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened Monday at approximately 11:43 p.m. on U.S. Highway 321 near Cotton Hill Road. Singletary was driving a 2022 Honda Accord northbound when the vehicle ran off the road, struck a tree and overturned.

Mane was the only person inside the car. She died at the scene, leaving her loved ones to face the painful reality of losing someone they never expected to say goodbye to so soon.
For her family, the loss goes far beyond the circumstances of the crash. Mane was a sister, a daughter and a beloved member of a family that had shared years of laughter, childhood adventures and everyday moments together. Those memories now carry a different weight as her loved ones struggle to come to terms with her death.
One of her siblings shared a deeply personal tribute, remembering her as their baby sister and the baby girl of their father’s crew. The tribute brought attention to the special place Mane held in the family, where even the smallest memories of growing up together have become precious reminders of the bond they shared.
Childhood mischief, playful arguments and moments that once seemed ordinary now mean more than words can explain. For a grieving sibling, remembering those days may bring a smile for a moment before the pain of knowing that Mane is gone settles in again.
The family has also endured the loss of their father. Now, with Mane gone too, they must face another painful chapter without two people who held important places in their lives. Losing a parent is difficult enough, but losing a younger sister adds another layer of grief that can be hard to put into words.
At just 18, Mane had so much life ahead of her. Her sudden death has left her family holding on to the memories they made together, from the laughter they shared to the little moments that helped define their relationship.
Although her time was cut short, the love her family has for her remains. Her name, her place in the family and the memories she created will continue to be part of their lives long after the pain of this loss has changed with time.
Chanise “Mane” Singletary will be remembered by those who loved her as a cherished younger sister and a beloved member of her father’s family. At 18, her life ended far too soon, leaving behind loved ones who now have to learn how to live with her absence. Forever 18, forever loved and forever remembered.
