Alexander Brooks, 29, of Springfield, Missouri, died on October 26, three days after a motorcycle crash left him with life-threatening injuries. He was riding his motorcycle through west Springfield on Friday night when it collided with a Jeep Cherokee at a busy intersection. Brooks was wearing a helmet when the crash happened, but his injuries proved fatal.
The collision happened at approximately 8:58 p.m. on October 23, at Chestnut Expressway and West Bypass. What began as a routine Friday evening ended with Brooks being rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said Brooks was riding a 2012 Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle eastbound on Chestnut Expressway. At the same time, a 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by 58-year-old Jacque Harvey of Joplin was pulling out of a parking lot at 3434 W. Chestnut Expressway to travel westbound. The motorcycle and the Jeep collided.
Brooks was taken to a hospital for treatment. He remained under medical care for the injuries he suffered in the crash, but he died on October 26. His family has been notified of his death.
